Juan Lemus. a years thought

Before going any further I would like you to just a take 10 seconds and think about a year. What a year means. 12 months, 52 weeks, 365 days, 8,760 hours..
Now think about how fast it takes to stop it…
One year ago I lost a part of my extended family. Someone, that don’t get me wrong, we didn’t hang out all that much. But we did bullshit and talk online everyday at least. I turned to for advice and inspiration in a portion of my life that I hold close to my heart because what it means to me.
Juan you will be missed but we celebrate your life by us growing upon our paths till the day we rejoin to drive again.

Well as another year grows closer and closer to the end and another one about to begin we as humans take time to look back , share , and begin to expect for the future. People send out Christmas cards and others just write there thoughts down. Shoot some just talk about it with other s and go about there merry way. Well in this case this is my holiday card. The new way. The blog way. The facebook wy.

So first off let me wish you all a season greeting especially ones for this new year. I know a lot happened to myself ofver the past year and am personally looking forward to my new adventrues seeing were I have been. So with that lets begin my recap.

Man what a year…

Enough miles to circle the globe is what comes to mind first. Being all the way to the desert and back. But I guess I could just make this a highlight real seeing how my blog over the year has covered the majority of the year. But on to my top 4 highlights

I think my number one highlight was Eibach. Meeting James, Chris, Jen, and Cody for the first time. About time. Amazing that we speak to each other on almost a daily basis and finally meeting each other face to face with our passions right there by our side. Just wonderful time with wonderful people. I mean I couldn’t have asked for a better weekend, well maybe the Kitty Kar to run a little better, but then were would the story be. Looking forward to seeing yall again for sure..

Highlight two for me would be going to the desert. Talk about a mixture of emotions of up and down with a daily struggle of staying positive. I’ll tell you what, even if you don’t support the war reach out to a soldiger, airman, marine, and sailor. Seriously just saying hi how was your day goes so far for them. There really just people doing there job. But personally I’m thankful for the people that I met over there andI’m so happy that the rest of my crew made it home safe the day before Christmas. That was great news for me on my Christmas day. Overall I thnk it was a good 5 months of growth for me. Sure I wasn’t in school but I learned a lot about myself in them. Physically and mentally actually. Working in 120 degree weather is something else, but after doing it makes the rest of the days so much easier.

Sorry no beauty shots yet.. Stay tuned stuff in the mail...

Highlight number three for me had to be bying my bike. The first ever purchase I made that big and taking the full responsibility for myself. Sure I paid for it all in cash and don’t have a payment but to save up and to put that money down and say you did it. It to me shows groth within me. And who doesn’t take satishfaction in buying something that they have been wanting since they were 18. Plus it allows me to focus on the sol and take her were I want her to go.

Lastly I’m gonna say highlight four. It’s the time I spent with my family and friends this year. I mean sure there were a lot but I think the distance that I have between us I has brought all of us closer. To my high school friends that have thankfully been stronger then me, and are going up so fast. Avalon nights. Birthdays, Christmas, Thanksgivin. I mean I can’t highlight all them times..

Now the to the future.. I’m gonna keep this short.
2011 – year of gettin’ IT!
It has to be your dreams. I’m only gonna put down three
1. Going back to school.
2. LA marthon. I’m putting out there like this.. I’m gonna do it
3. Rebirth of the sol.. Again more details later!

With as much joy there was also sad. My we remember the loved ones we lost and cherish the time we got with them.

Peace, Love, and Beats!

R.I.P. Juan Lemus

Well finally I think I can write about this
After a shit ton a liquor and half a day I think I suppressed my feeling enough to get this off and go to sleep.

Juanito,
Were to begin.
I met you before I walked into Pit Crew. I read about you before your sol got stolen for the first time. I'm pretty sure I started talking to you soon after that. We were both going threw stolen rebuild at the time and comparing stories. My sol in all the 9 years I have owned her was never and I quote "never" on your level.. Your love your expertise, your knowledge, you drive to DRIVE!
Remeber that one time before I went in the Air Force and Alica came down from Vegas and you and Johnny came over after we went to the club. We were all so shit faced.. But man was that some funny shit. How you ended up with Alicia's ID and credit card.
Juanito I envy you!
I looked up to you as a person, owner, and car guru.. You knew your shit and helped everyone out. A perfect example of what a true enthusiast was.. It didn't matter if you had the most rictastic car out there. If they loved it you were there. And that was a true example of your heart. You never cared you never passed judgment you just put it out here for everyone to see. That is why so many people love you.
And truly my brother I love you.
For everything you are.
To think that instead of the driving force behind us on the road pushing us to be that much faster threw that corner. Your now are angle guiding us threw the day is baffling. But you are that angle now. You are that guiding force to so many people. People you don't even know. You were that big my friend.
It has only been a week since we last hung out. Hours since talked.
I have cried but it's not the last of my tears. When I see your sol roll again and your not behind the wheel with that smile of bliss that, and that, will be the time when I personally shed the biggest tear.
I may own the plate that says IloveMYSOL but brother you were there with me. You loved it. When she was clean it was like your smile full of love, and out there for the world to see.
I end this with pictures and quotes from the man himself
I will hold you in my heart and remember you every time I turn key.
I love you, your loving family, and all those that love you!
You are my friend, a close and dear one!
Juan,
I love you mang!

There are so many more.. I chose these three because 1) that was his sol before it got stolen #2.. I remeber he made a shirt of that shit to. 2) His sol the last time I saw him and it at Eibach '10. 3) Well if you had to have personal shot that would be it. Or #4.
I miss you mang!
Del Sol's are only gay if you make them gay!

I have watched alot of TV in my life. I have watched alot of things about drugs in my life. I have spoken, done, hung around, and you name it in my life. This show actually touched me. The combination of the two things of seeing DjAM out of what everyone is used to seeing him as. And seeing the real person that he was on a daily basis. Also seeing this young woman's struggle against drugs. I don't think I have seen a piece of TV this strong in a long time.
Give it a watch..
Gone To Far
Then if you didn't tear up at all during the episode..
Try watching the interview with Amy after..
If you don't then well...

RIP Dj Adam Goldstein AM

So what this has now happened over a week ago and I'm finally making time to write something about it..
Sittin here listening to Fix Your Face Vol. 2
To me right there makes it so self explanatory of what kind of man this was and how bad the community is going to feel the impact of a damn good Dj gone to soon. You know what I have been blessed to sit and talk to many Dj's in the business alot young and only a hand full old. But to see one at the top go out like that hits closer then just watching another celebrity die. I mean you know how many Dj's are alkies some druggies. Personally I stuck to the alkie side of things but man, do you build a tolerance because you doing it close to every day.. I could only imagine the tolerance AM had.
Anyways to some real thoughts.
I had the pleasure of meeting him twice in my life. I can't really say that I saw him live more then that as well. As you see from the pictures below last Halloween at Hard Festival in Los Angeles. He personally got to bless my tables. Just the way that he controlled the crowd and just put them were he wanted. He was like a puppet master up there. Plus his music selection it was like he took a beat made by someone else and found a way to make it his own. I mean I have listened, watched many of youtube video of AM. There was just a presence that he had. You knew he was the eargasm that you were having. He is one of those Dj's that the younger generation will speak of as someone to be like. Basically the man who brought Mash-Up's to the lime light, and made everyone in the community go nuts when he signed that million dollar year contract with Cesar's Palace.
An inspiration to what you can do with two turntables, a mixer, and a mind. A pioneer with Serato really showing everyone what you can actually do with it. What you should be doing with it. Showing everyone the power of music. Marching to the beat of your own drum.
"New York, New York big city of dreams, life just ain't always what it seems."
RIP AM, Mr. Goldstein.
You had made it. You owned the city. Now we watch you in our dreams.

My Week Leave

Well I said that I was going to do this later and now that I’m back at Sheppard I seem to have all the time in the world to break this thing down.. This leave that I got was for a bad reason in itself, but of course I used in a happy moment as well.
Lets start with the serious and later get to the fun.

The most serious issue was family and helping my mom usher her father to the other side. Its sad to say this but my mom is excellent in making at this and her attitude while it dips in these situations, no one has a stronger mom then I. The way she can stare death in the face and remain calm and bottle so many things up is impeccable. She may have not been there for the final breath but that’s the power that she has to make them feel okay when she leaves the room for a second that is there time to go and follow her out and up. Just the same with my dad followed her right outside and up and away. While my mother and I didn’t see eye about this visit and some other things I know that with a couple phone calls and flowers she will take me back.

Llyod Schwiekard
while I didn’t know him that amazing my mother spoke about him with amazing story. My fondest memory is when I got to spend a week on his project ostrich farm in Arizona. He was a man that did a lot. A taxi driver at 21, a Merchant Marine, Army Vet, insurance salesmen, ostrich rancher, just to name a few of them. My mom always says that I look like him and I would have to agree I hope I look like him when I’m that old. Not a wrinkle on his face. An adventures man cut down to a bed in the end. It was his time because after a week of rest a man like that needed a new adventure. To grandpa and the new adventure I know your on. Just have your stories ready when we meet again.

It was also great to see my little brother and my cousin Kelly ( I don’t even remember the last time that I saw her maybe like a teenager or something like that). Man I miss my little bro. So much fun, so alike but so different, while we fight and say stupid shit I would never want anyone else.

But lets get into the fun

Great spending time with Steff again. Thank you for taking me every were I pretty much needed to go. It felt like good old times and I can always count on you for that you made me feel like I was at home
Chris - look at you all growing up and shit. Getting your Dj shit all right and comin up on the game. Lookin good, not drinkin as much has paid off. Can’t wait for the twitter saying you have the new coche.
Tony – my secret gay lover.. Oooppss. Anyways pookie. Thank you for making me switch over to Tmobile and the great jokes, great times. Always kept a smile on my face. Galaxy FTW. Keep getting your shit together and good luck not being fat.
Grace – My little Asian millionaire. I’m so happy your doing decent and I say decent because your gonna do such big things this is only a stepping stone. My designer I’ll keep losing weight and getting stronger so you have a good model.
Blahnik what a cat haha..
Ben - It’s always good to see my little brother from another mother. Thank you for the Pedo Bear and lunch. Like always your ahead of the curve and doing good.
Compita – Keep going till you get that Shierf status. I'm happy you finally out on your own. Proud of you mang.
Yayo – lookin good speed racer. Haha hope Costco treats you well still and keep movin up in there.
Uly - wifer for lifer still. Some things never change but I'm happy that you finally put a ring on her hand. Glad to see your growin up

Last but not least

Alicia – I finally got a full day with you and finally got to know you and what your about. Getting lost out of nervousness not knowing what to see or what to do probably some of the most awkward moments of my life, but well spent. And now with a 2 year grantee only time will tell.

Night by night review.
Sat- Rumba Room double 2 for 1 on patron. What a ice breaker
Sun – Galaxy Bar time with Tony and Grace, then to Old Town Pasadena
Mon- Comedy probably the best show I ever have been to Joey Diaz and Jeff Garcia.
Tues – All Star Game with the Tiger homies. Then Havana House
Wed – Alicia that says it all
Thurs – La Cita how that place has changed but can’t beat records.
Fri – Villa Soriso Chirs still putting it down
Sat – Rumba Room again.

It was fun seeing everyone again and I'm upset that I didn't get to see everyone good news is that I'm a drive away and i can provide shelter for when you come out to visit me. If you haven't heard were I'm going to be stationed I will let you know once I get my orders and head out there just stay posted
Sorry that this took so long to create havn't had internet.

RIP Michael Jackson

Today is a sad day for everyone who loves music. An end of a era, the end of a legend. Not many words can say what this man has meant to a generation, and how far his music has reached.
How many people he touched.
Truly a sad day..

RIP Michael Jackson.
The day the world cried.
